How to Enroll for CA Courses in India – Step-by-Step Guide

Chartered Accountancy (CA) is one of the most respected professional qualifications in India. The journey begins with enrollment through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the official regulatory body responsible for CA education, training, and examinations.

1. CA Course Structure

• CA Foundation: Entry-level course after Class 12
• CA Intermediate: Second level after Foundation or via Direct Entry
• CA Final: Final professional examination after Intermediate and Articleship

2. Eligibility Criteria

• Foundation Route: Students who have passed or appeared in Class 12 can register provisionally.
• Direct Entry Route: Commerce graduates with 55% marks or non-commerce graduates with 60% marks can directly enter CA Intermediate.
• Final Year Students: Graduation final year students can also apply provisionally under Direct Entry.
• Note: Direct Entry students are not required to appear for CA Foundation.

5. Study Period & Articleship Training

• Foundation: Minimum 4 months of study before appearing in exams
• Intermediate: Students must complete ICITSS training before Articleship
• Articleship: 3 years of practical training under a practicing CA after Intermediate
• Final Exams: Eligible after completing Articleship and required study period
